Milestone Update: Progress and Goals

Game development is a journey, and this milestone has been about refining systems, addressing challenges, and laying the foundation for smoother progress moving forward.

What Was Planned

The original goal for this milestone was to complete four additional talents, part of a larger plan for eight total talents across archetypes. Without additional programming support, I shifted focus to two Warrior talents for a more realistic pace as a solo developer.

Progress Made

  • Melee Weapons Talent: Close to completion, with animations and damage handling almost finalized.
  • System Overhauls: Transitioned from C++ to Blueprints for talent creation, streamlining development for the future.
  • Gameplay Fixes: Resolved character spawning issues, movement bugs, and camera placement problems, improving overall stability.
  • Character Creation: Players can now select race, discipline, and attributes, with data transferring into gameplay.

Goals for the Next Milestone

  1. Complete Melee Weapons Talent with full functionality.
  2. Test the AI System and showcase a Warrior AI in basic PvE.
  3. Expand Character Creation with talent/skill rank selection.

While progress sometimes feels slow, each milestone builds a stronger foundation for future acceleration. Thank you for following along on this journey—I’m excited to share even more progress soon!
