Development Update: Progress, Challenges, and Next Steps

The past few weeks have been filled with exciting progress and a few bumps along the way. Here’s a quick update on what’s been happening:

  • Character Creation: I’ve been focused on moving characters from the Character Creation screen into the game. While I’m making progress, the characters are currently missing key features like abilities. There’s still work to be done, but it’s coming together!
  • AI Document Tool: To speed up development, I’ve been working on an AI Document Database tool that will help me efficiently search through the game’s lore. My first attempt using LLaMA didn’t work due to VRAM issues, but I’m now transitioning to T5-Small. Once this tool is ready, it’ll make the development process much smoother.
  • Emergent AI™ System: Progress continues on the Emergent AI system. While balancing tool creation with game production has been tricky, I’m confident this system will be a game-changer once fully integrated.
  • Sprint Recap: This sprint didn’t go as smoothly as planned. Tasks like fixing the character carousel and implementing the sword sheathing system are still incomplete, but I’m optimistic about getting back on track as I shift focus from tool creation back to core development.

Looking ahead, I’m focused on refining the AI Document tool, completing the character creation process, and pushing more features into production. Progress may have slowed for a bit, but with these tools in place, things should move faster in the coming weeks!
